Versatile Bayern Munich defender David Alaba is back on Real Madrid's agenda as they consider life without club captain Sergio Ramos.
Ramos is out of contract in the summer and amid the doubts about whether he will renew his deal or not, Madrid have drawn up a Plan B.
If Ramos doesn't pen new terms and leaves Madrid for free next summer, Los Blancos will turn to Austria international Alaba, who can play across the back four or in midfield.
Like Ramos, Alaba is also available for free next summer with talks over a new deal at Bayern on ice due to his demands.
Ramos, meanwhile, has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, who are reportedly willing to offer him a longer deal than Madrid to make the move to France.
Madrid want him to sign a one-year extension as he turned 35 in February.
