The Champions League final will be Chelsea vs Manchester City

Real Madrid ran out of steam and Chelsea steamrollered them. It was 2-0 on the night, 3-1 on aggregate but it could have been far more.

Thomas Tuchel’s Blue machine were on top of Madrid from the off, and Timo Werner had a goal ruled out for offside before he broke the deadlock.

N’Golo Kante bolted forward, Werner sat down Ramos, Kai Havertz lobbed Thibaut Courtois and Werner was on hand to head home when the ball bounced back off the crossbar.

Chelsea had less of the ball but all of the chances, shredding a flabby and often clueless Madrid.

Even their formation was off, skewed, with Vinicius Junior as a right wing back, Sergio Ramos left alone in the middle far too many times.

Mason Mount, Kante, Werner and Havertz had a field day. Havertz hit the bar early in the second half too, and Courtois made several fine saves to deny the Blues.

The second goal came later than it should have, with Mount blasting in after more fine work by Kante and substitute Christian Pulisic.

“First off it's difficult because Real had a lot of possession and they made us suffer, but then we were dangerous with counter-attacks and never lost the hunger, never lost their desire to defend,” said Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel.

"Second half was even better, the structure to defend and in the second half, we could've scored much earlier - I could've scored more. It's a fantastic achievement and big congratulations to the team.

"Real Madrid, of course, are always dangerous. they can turn nothing into goals. So, to hang in there, even when you have chances and miss them, they never lost concentration, focus, and a positive energy on the pitch. This was a huge performance."

So it’s an all-English final, Chelsea against Manchester City, and back to the drawing board for the rest of Europe.
