Real Madrid's top striker, Karim Benzema, will miss out to play in the upcoming El Clásico, along with fellow teammate Carvajal, due to fitness

Problems loom for Real Madrid ahead of the first Clásico of the preseason against Barça. Karim Benzema will not be playing the fixture against arch-rivals FC Barcelona in the United States. Coach Ancelotti decided to avoid any risks to the French international, who is not yet at full fitness, in the game against Xavi's team.

The striker will stay in Los Angeles as he works to get ready. Accompanying him will be Dani Carvajal, who has a sprained ankle and will not play the Clásico either. Ancelotti, who is also without Mariano, will face some headaches as he will miss both of his best strikers for the Clásico.

The Madrid coach can play Eden Hazard as an alternative to the number nine. However, he chose not to reveal any of his plans ahead of the match, with Dani Carvajal being ruled out with a niggle, to avoid risks to either player in the preseason.
