Los Blancos training on Monday ahead of the start of their Club World Cup campaign

Real Madrid trained for the first time in Abu Dhabi on Monday ahead of their involvement in the Club World Cup this week.

Midfielder Marco Asensio was unable to complete the session, leaving Santiago Solari worried, but Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale did both train.

The attention was focused on Gareth Bale, who missed the win over Rayo Vallecano after injuring his ankle in the Champions League defeat to CSKA Moscow.

Karim Benzema, meanwhile, was unable to finish the game against Rayo, but it seems he doesn't have any serious fitness issues.

Raphael Varane took part in the first half of the session, while Brazilian midfielder Casemiro and left-back Sergio Reguilon both took part having returned from injuries.

European champions Madrid kick off their defence of the Club World Cup on Wednesday against Japanese side Kashima Antlers.
