Another coronavirus case at Madrid ahead of Athletic game
Sergio Arribas has now tested positive before the game at San Mames
Real Madrid are one of the Spanish teams most heavily affected by the new coronavirus wave. Carlo Ancelotti's side were already without 11 players for Wednesday's game against Athletic Club (for various reasons, mainly Covid), with Sergio Arribas now added to that list.
The young midfielder had been called up for the fixture at San Mames but has been forced to drop out and will not travel to Bilbao.
Concern is growing at Madrid because of the number of cases detected not just in the football team but around the club in general.
David Alaba, Isco, Luka Modric, Marcelo, Marco Asensio, Gareth Bale, Rodrygo and Andriy Lunin -- as well as assistant coach Davide Ancelotti -- all tested positive last week.
The injured Dani Carvajal and Dani Ceballos will also miss Wednesday's game, while Casemiro is suspended, while there are also coronavirus cases in the club's basketball team..
