Ajax's Van de Beek confirms talks over Real Madrid transfer

Donny Van de Beek is still an Ajax player but his mind is on Real Madrid, After playing and scoring against Vitesse in Ajax's opening day 2-2 draw in the Eredivisie, he confirmed talks are ongoing with the Spanish side.
"It is true that Madrid are in talks with Ajax, but I can't say any more," Van de Beek said in an interview with Fox Sports after the draw.
"My agent will have spoken with them. Real Madrid are a great club to play for, but Ajax are still a great club. We'll see what happens."
The Ajax fans that had made the trip to Arnhem for the game sang for Van de Beek to stay. "Donny, stay another year," they chanted. He confirmed he'd heard their pleas.
Van de Beek as emerged as Madrid's No.1 target to strengthen their midfield this summer following their failure to land Manchester United's Paul Pogba.
