The now ex-Real Betis coach spoke to Cadena Ser after beating Real Madrid

Quique Setien left his role as Real Betis coach on Sunday but not before sealing a 2-0 win over Real Madrid to end the season with wins at the Santiago Bernabeu and Camp Nou.

Setien, who led Betis into Europe last season, leaves Betis after two years at the club and having won many admirers in the world of football for the way his side played football.

Speaking to Cadena SER after his departure from the Seville-based club was confirmed, he said he would love to coach Barça, who his Betis side beat 4-3 at Camp Nou, in the future.

"I am sad in one way because the reality is that I am not sure if it's a little unfair what has happened, but it is what it is, this is football," he said.

"I find it disappointing that the work we have done over these two years, which I think has been acceptable, will not have continuity."

Setien assured that "of course" he would like to train Barça in the future but said he would not take over at Sevilla, Betis' local rivals.
