The Brazilian says he doesn't know if he can stay in the game beyond that

Neymar Jr spoke to DAZN about his future. The Brazilian was asked about his 2014 World Cup campaign where he nearly had to retire from football after a bad tackle by Zuniga.

“I could not move my legs, I had no strength to get up, I couldn’t,” said Neymar.

“It was one of the worst moments of my career. It ruined my dream of playing in a World Cup to the semi-final, the final. I could not move, I cried desperately. They took me to hospital, examined me and the medic told me that he had two pieces of news, one good and bad.

“I told him to tell me the bad news and he said ‘you’re out of the World Cup’. Crying I told him, ‘what’s the good news?’ and he said ‘if it had been two centimetres to the side you would not be walking again.”

Neymar also revealed that next summer is crunch-time if he wants to win a World Cup. “I think Qatar 2022 is my last World Cup because I don’t know if I have the mental strength to deal with football any more. I will do everything I can to arrive well, to win with my country, to realise the dream I’ve had since I was a kid and I hope I can.”
