PSG are ready to join the race to sign Lionel Messi this summer
The French champions are desperate to reunite Leo with Neymar, as well as Kylian Mbappé
PSG have decided to enter the battle to secure Lionel Messi's signature should he leave FC Barcelona this summer. The French champions have spoken at length about a potential deal with their owners and it now appears they are ready to reveal their hand.
Messi's wage demands wouldn't be an issue but a potential transfer fee would throw a spanner in the works. They would need to sell first in order to balance their books and comply with Financial Fair Play.
Barça would need to reach an amicable agreement with Messi for him to leave first.
SIGNING MESSI WOULD BE A MARKETING DREAM
PSG believe adding Messi to their attack of Neymar and Mbappe would send shockwaves around the world. It's also believed that should Leo join, the other two would pen long term contracts at PSG as well.
In Argentina they confirm that PSG's director of football, Leonardo, has already spoken with Leo's father Jorge. There's no question that, strictly on a financial level, PSG are the most secure option. Not even Manchester City would be able to match the terms PSG can offer Messi.
What remains clear is that the final decision will belong to Messi and Messi alone. The lure of joining up with Neymar again is a plus for PSG though. However, Leo and Barça must first reach an agreement about his departure before anything can move forward. If the matter goes through the court system then PSG might be forced to look at alternative options.
