PSG 1-3 Man Utd: Ligue 1 side throw away Champions League lead again
United turned around a first leg loss to stun PSG in Paris on Wednesday
Paris Saint-Germain have done it again, surrendering a first leg lead to exit the Champions League in stoppage time at the last 16 stage.
Two years ago it was Barcelona who came from 4-0 down to win 6-5 on aggregate, thanks to Sergi Roberto's late goal, and this time it was Manchester United and Marcus Rashford.
PSG, without Neymar for both legs, won 2-0 at Old Trafford two weeks ago and were strong favourites to make the last eight.
Romelu Lukaku's second minute goal opened things up but Juan Bernat's 12th minute equaliser looked to have killed the English side's brief hopes of a comeback.
However, Lukaku scored again before the break to restore United's belief, despite the fact they were without nine players, including the suspended Paul Pogba and the injured Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera.
PSG had chances to equalise again. Angel Di Maria had a goal ruled out for offside but as the game grew so did United.
They'd rarely ventured forward in the second half but they began to push in the final 10 minutes and won a penalty when VAR ruled Presnel Kimpembe had handled the ball in stoppage time.
Rashford stepped up and nervelessly beat Gianlugi Buffon to send United, unexpectedly, into the quarterfinals via away goals. PSG had done it again.
