Newcastle have been linked with PSG stars

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has denied reports that the English side could be set to sign a world class star in the summer transfer window.

The rumours pointed to the likes of Leo Messi, Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo. Despite that, the English boss has made it clear that "we couldn't get close to those players because they are the best in the world. We will never be in a position to pay those transfers and those wages.

Howe added: "That kind of speculation has been around from day one. Everyone has assumed that the big names in world football are going to Newcastle.”

Since the emergence of Mohamed bin Salman as Newcastle's new owner, the Magpies have taken a step forward, not least thanks to the new owner's huge financial investment.

The British coach also confessed that at Newcastle "you can't just pick a name and bring him in, we don't sign like that. We have to bring in the right people, we have to think about what we do, financially and sportingly.

In this way, the coach of the English club has decided to settle all the rumours of the transfer market and focus on the last days of the Premier League where the 'Magpies' are fighting to play in the Champions League next season.
