He missed an anti-doping test he was cited for at Arsenal's training base

Arsenal and Manchester United are in a mess with Alexis Sanchez. During the negotiations and the transfer an unexpected incident ocurred which could affect both clubs... and the Chilean player. The story has had a bizarre twist.

Everything started at the beginning of the week when the FA turned up at Arsenal's training base to subject a number of the club's playing to the organisation's anti-doping controls -- blood extractions which teams competing in European competitions are often subject to.

The FA were at London Colney, Arsenal's base. Among those selected for blood testing was Alexis Sanchez, who on Monaday was not present due to the club giving him permission to travel to Manchester to undergo a medical with Jose Mourinho's side.

The problem is Arsenal had not informed the FA of the player's journey north, as all clubs should do when a player is not going to be at the training ground on any given day.

And the FA's people in London, following protocol, reported back to the organisation's headquarters that Alexis had not been able to fulfil the anti-doping tests he was scheduled to do.

Now, both Arsenal and United must argue in front of the FA their reasons for Alexis skipping the anti-doping control. The player should make his debut for his new club this week after completing his move Old Trafford.
