Premier League leaders Liverpool are interested in signing Villarreal forward Samu Chukwueze, according to reports in the English press.
Villarreal would be open to selling for around 40 million euros, despite the fact he has a contract until 2023. If he was to be sold for that amount, he would become the club's most expensive ever sale, surpassing Pablo Fornals, who joined West Ham for €27m last summer.
Liverpool have been following Nigerian international Chukwueze for a while. He has also been linked with Manchester City.
The 20-year-old joined Villarreal for €500,000 and has gone on to become an important play for the club. He has made 18 appearances this season, missing just one game and scoring three goals and setting up three more.
