City were confirmed as Premier League champions on Saturday after Arsenal's loss

Pep Guardiola is the new ruler of the English crown. Manchester City are Premier League champions. For the third year in a row, Pep has won the title, which is his fifth league title in six seasons. City continue to rule for another year in England.

Arsenal's shock defeat by Nottingham Forest allowed City to make good on their lead at the top and celebrate the title with three games to go. Another dream season for Guardiola that has had to simmer. It has not been easy.

Almost perfect

New year, new team for Guardiola. He never tires of being the best and reinventing himself season after season. We have enjoyed the new position of Stones in the double pivot alongside Rodri, the three central defenders with Akanji and Aké as two 'signings' of the highest level and Walker perfectly adapted in his role as right centre-back.

Julián Álvarez played some very high-quality minutes, with eight goals and a great contribution to the team. A rebellious Jack Grealish, unleashed on the left and absolutely key. Bernardo Silva and Gündogan, a pair of geniuses on the ball, normally starting ahead of Foden and Mahrez. They all form a champion team worked to the millimetre.

Teacher vs. pupil

Mikel Arteta and Arsenal believed they could be the Premier League champions, until Guardiola arrived to bring them down from the cloud. The two teams were locked in a beautiful fight for the lead, with the pupil almost beating the master.

The Gunners spent 247 days at the top, and were five points clear of City on matchday 29. Guardiola's side accelerated to cruising speed and swept all before them to return to the top, though.

The day it all broke down was on matchday 33, when the two sides met at the Etihad. Arsenal were a point off the pace, facing their last chance to stay alive. City's 4-1 win ultimately decided the title in Guardiola's side's favour.

Haaland and 10 more

There is no doubt about it, though, Erling Haaland is the star of this Manchester City. An all-time record of goals in a season in the Premier League has arrived in his debut campaign in England. 36 goals so far and there could be more. Guardiola needed a No.9 and he signed the best.

He scored a brace on his league debut against West Ham and nobody could stop him. Four hat-tricks and five braces in the league alone. The Norwegian has turned Manchester City into a terrifying team for their rivals.

Belgian assist

And what can we say about Kevin de Bruyne? The team's and the Premier League's top creator with 16 assists. A genius who prefers to go unnoticed and not to make the headlines, despite his silversmith afternoons of football at the Etihad.

The perfect cross from the right-hand corner of the box to the head of Haaland is now world heritage. Eight of his 16 assists have gone to the Norwegian. The two form the best partnership in world football. An unstoppable duo.

The Etihad

City have been brilliant at home. Only Thomas Frank's Brentford were able to pull off the upset and win at the Etihad (1-2). Otherwise, 16 wins and just one draw against Everton (1-1).

6-0 against Nottingham Forest, 6-3 over Manchester United in the derby, 4-1 vs. Arsenal and Liverpool and 4-2 against Tottenham. Guardiola's Manchester City is a perfect machine. And they have smashed the Premier League once again.
