Guardiola explains how Pedro made him a better coach

The Spain forward taught the Catalan some things when they worked together at Barcelona

Pep Guardiola is delighted to see Pedro re-finding his form at Chelsea, who face his Manchester City side in the Premier League this weekend.

Of course, Guardiola was asked about the former Barcelona man in his pre-game press conference, with the two of them having worked together at Camp Nou for many years.

The response from the City coach towards the Canary Islander could not have been more glowing: “I hope he doesn’t stand out too much against us.

“Pedro’s made me a better manager. He showed us the importance of pressing high. He’s a player that moves well between the lines and in the area he’s a killer.”

After a tough start at Stamford Bridge, Spain international Pedro has come good under Antonio Conte this season.

Guardiola added: “I am really happy that Pedro’s found some stability and is an important player for Chelsea, he deserves it.”
