The coach has agreed a two year contract extension with the English side

Pep Guardiola will stay on as coach of Man City. The Catalan and the English club have reached a deal to extend his deal by two seasons, as SPORT reported earlier today. The renovation has made official at 1.30pm and he will stay until June 2023.

Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain have accomplished their objective. In his fifth season at City, Guardiola's renewal had become a big topic. There was a lot of speculation about his future. It gives a new boost to the City project. Fernandinho and Kun Aguero are reaching the end of their deals, so it might have been a time of big change. Kevin de Bruyne is in discussions over renewing and keeping Guardiola helps.

"I would love to spend more time at City," said Guardiola recently. "It's somewhere I feel really good, but to stay I have to deserve it."

Man City chairman Khaldoon Mubarak said: “It is testament to the qualities of the man that Pep Guardiola’s passion and intelligent approach are now woven into the very fabric of the football we play and our culture as Club.

"That impact has been central to our success during his tenure and it is why I am delighted that he shares our view that there is so much more to be achieved both on and off the field.

“Pep’s contract extension is the natural next step in a journey which has evolved over many years.”
