The midfielder wants to see out his contract at Old Trafford

Juan Mata was not seduced by a mega offer from Saudi Arabia and instead decided to stay put at Manchester United this summer.

Mata, 32, was offered 20 million euros annually to make the switch to the Saudi league but preferred to remain at Old Trafford for the final year of his contract, which expires in 2021.

The first offer made to Mata was worth 16 million but he said no. The unnamed club returned with a bigger offer but the Spain midfielder again said no.

Mata, formerly of Chelsea and Valencia, feels he still has a lot to give to United this season and believes the club can compete for trophies at all levels.

He wasn't involved in the final game before the international break when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were beaten 6-1 by Tottenham.
