Uncertainty over how to finish the season could kill Liverpool's title dream

Given the uncertainty over how to finish the football season, Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has begun to accept that they may not win the Premier League title this season.

Liverpool are just two wins away from clinching their first title in 30 years but the stoppage to the season has forced them to wait. If the season were to be cancelled, they may have to wait even longer.

Europe's top leagues are seeking ways to finish the season and are looking at summer dates, but Mane has told TalkSport he will understand if things don't work out in his side's favour.

"I want to win the games and I want to get the trophy, it’s what I would love," he said. "But with this situation, whatever happens I will understand.

"It has been difficult for Liverpool, but it has been more difficult for many millions of people around the world. Some people have lost family members and that is the more complicated situation.

"But for myself, it’s my dream and I want to win it this year. If that’s not the case, I will accept, it’s part of life. Hopefully we will win it next year."
