Aguero scored a hat-trick and Sterling grabbed two

Manchester City returned to the top of the Premier League after hammering Chelsea 6-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Pep Guardiola's side are level on points with Liverpool but they lead the way on goal difference -- although they have played one game more.

It took just four minutes for Raheem Sterling to open the scoring against Chelsea with a quick-fire double from Sergio Aguero then making it 3-0.

Ilkay Gundogan scored the fourth before the break with Maurizio Sarri's side falling apart for the second away game running -- they lost 4-0 at Bournemouth a week ago.

Aguero completed his hat-trick in the second half from the penalty spot after Sterling was brougth down. It was his 11th treble in the Premier League, a number matched only by Alan Shearer.

Sterling add his second and City's sixth later and only some good goalkeeping from Kepa ensured Chelsea didn't leak anymore.

Italian coach Sarri was already under pressure at Stamford Bridge but may well face calls for his job now.
