Fred and Jesse Lingard were subjected to abuse from a supporter

A Manchester City fan has been arrested, after there was an alleged racist incident during the derby clash with Manchester United on Saturday.

A City supporter was making alleged racist gestures and noises during the game.

Police are holding a 41 year old man on a suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence.

"The club are also working with GMP regarding an instance of objects being thrown on to the field of play,” said Man City in a statement.

"The club operates a zero-tolerance policy regarding discrimination of any kind, and anyone found guilty of racial abuse will be banned from the club for life."

Fred and Jesse Lingard were the victims of the abuse.
