If there are no last minute surprises, Leroy Sane will return to his native Germany to continue his career with Bayern Munich. The Man City winger has been out for months after breaking his cruciate ligament in August. The coronavirus has stopped his return to action now he is fit again.
Sane is poised to leave City for Bayern for 80 million euros, with his contract at City going on until 2021. The player's agent Damir Smoljan told Kicker: "Bayern are the only club in Germany that Leroy can consider as the next step of his career. He thinks the conditions there can help him reach his objective: Winning the Champions League."
Curiously Bayern are one of the teams Sane rejected when he headed off to Man City from Schalke in the summer of 2017. They paid 55 million euros for him and beat Real Madrid to the punch too. However he has been in and out of the team at City.
