Leicester City's Mahrez closes in on move to Manchester City
The Algerian playmaker is set to sign for the Premier League champions for 60 million pounds
The expected transfer of Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City to Manchester City will finally become a reality this summer -- maybe even this week.
That's the news coming from various sources in England, including those with close links to Leicester.
It's question of, if not hours, days or weeks until the Algerian international signs for the Premier League champions.
What seems clear is that he has now played his last game in the colours of Leicester, the club he won he English title with in 2015-16.
The cost of the deal will be around 60 million pounds, a little less than Leicester rejected from City in the final days of the January transfer window.
Rob Tanner, a journalist with the Leicester Mercury and offer of of the official book to commemorate the Foxes' title success two years ago, expected Mahrez to go.
He said: "This is the Mahrez situation as I understant it. Negotiations will have a successful ending but talks are still ongoing. There's still no agreement. The cost will be around 60 million pounds. I would be surprised if he's still a Leicester player at the beginning of the season."
