Guardiola to fight Zidane for the signing of Juve star Pogba

Zinedine Zidane may have competition in his bid to sign French compatriot Paul Pogba. Pep Guardiola also wants the midfielder for his new project at Manchester City and will fight Real Madrid for the Juventus man.

Pogba, who has also interested Barcelona, is one of the biggest names on the market this summer and if it's about economical power, the English side will have no problems pushing a deal through.

Guardiola has even communicated to owner Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak that Pogba will be the key cog in the City of the future. The Catalan coach considers his signing a priority and the player doesn't see it as a bad idea, either. He has previosuly said he would like to work with Guardiola.

City are ready to pay as much as 95 million euros to Juve, while also offering Pogba 20 million per year. Guardiola would like the deal done before the European Championships, when the 23-year-old's price could further increase.

It remains to be seen, though, if Juve would accept that offer from City. Last summer they rejected a similar bid from Chelsea, instead preferring to keep Pogba at the club for another season.
