Evra: Pep Guardiola can't coach players with personality

The Man City boss was dug out by the former Man United defender after UCL elimination

Patrice Evra has fired a jab at Pep Guardiola after Man City’s elimination by Real Madrid in the Champions League. He’s been critical before and he will be again.

“Man City needs leaders but Guardiola does not like leaders,” said Evra, formerly of Manchester United on Prime Video. “He doesn’t want personality. He is the leader. For that, when they have problems, they can’t do it. They don’t have anyone on the pitch who can help them.”

“He chooses his teams like thatt, he can’t coach players with personality. He did it at Barcelona, but he constructed a team to control everyone. When things go wrong, he always decides.”

Evra also hit out at City as a club. “City have made a mistake, it’s true, they are traumatised. They remind me of PSG, clubs based on money.

“Real Madrid have money but they have history behind them. Man City only have money and the players only go there for that. Later they win trophies, of course, but a player only goes to Man City because they offer more.”
