City make progress on signing Alexis
The Chilean wants to leave Arsenal to join up with Guardiola's project
The signing of Alexis is one of City's top priorities in the next few days
Manchester City and Arsenal are still discussing the transfer of Alexis Sánchez. The Chilean forward is City’s main priority now and both parties have changed their positions in recent days. Arsenal are now willing to negotiate the Chilean’s departure, which is what Alexis wanted.
Manchester City are confident that a deal can be agreed but do not want to include any players – Sterling and Agüero had been rumoured – in the deal.
Alexis is currently with the Chile national team but his intention remains to sign for City and is waiting for the clubs to reach an agreement. City are willing to send a medical team out to Chile to ensure that the deal can be finalised even though Alexis is with the national team.
