Arsenal want to agree a deal with Madrid to keep Ceballos another year

Arteta, sobre el posible fichaje de Ceballos: No hemos hablado nada al respecto / | Perform

'The Gunners' want to take a longer look at the Spanish international before making a decision on whether to buy him permanently

Dani Ceballos' loan to Arsenal hasn't gone quite as planned. After initially being a key member of the team under then manager Unai Emery, the midfielder then picked up an injury and subsequently found it hard to regain his place in the XI with Mikel Arteta. However, just as he was finding his feet again the coronavirus outbreak halted the season completely.

In fact, Real Madrid were close to recalling Ceballos in January due to his lack of playing time. His loan deal at Arsenal expires on the 30th June but both Madrid and the London side are now open to extending that for another season. Firstly, to allow the player to potentially finish the competitions he's currently involved in and secondly, so he can find the continuity he's lacked this year.

The 'London Evening Standard' has revealed that Arsenal are looking to wrap up a deal with Real Madrid soon.
