The English club have paid around 60 million euros for the forward

He joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund, where he scored 172 goals in 213 matches

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund on Deadline Day.

The English club have not confirmed what is a "club record fee" but it's reported to be around 56 million pounds (63.7 million euros).

"The 28-year-old has joined us from Borussia Dortmund on a long-term contract for a club-record fee," Arsenal said on Wednesday.

"Our second signing of the January transfer window, Auba is one of the world’s most highly-rated strikers.

"He scored 98 goals in 144 Bundesliga games for Dortmund and had a hand in 172 goals in 213 matches in all competitions for his former club."

Aubameyang joins former Dortmund teammate Henrikh Mkhitaryan at London after the Armenian left Manchester United as part of the deal which saw Alexis Sanchez move in the other direction.

The arrival of the Gabonese forward could see Olivier Giroud leave, with Premier League rivals Chelsea tipped to sign him for around 17 million pounds.
