After various days of rumours Alisson Becker arrived in Liverpool to take and pass his medical tests ahead of signing for the Merseyside club.

Per Sky Sports, the player arrived in a private jet from Rome overnight to finish off the process ahead of being announced a Liverpool player. The fee is around 75 million euros, a record for a goalkeeper.

It surprasses the 53 million Juventus paid Parma for Buffon or the 40m that Man City paid for Ederson last summer.

Roma's sporting director Monchi said that the deal was close. "It's true that Alisson is in Liverpool, the deal is at an advanced phase but is not sealed yet, if everything goes normally it will be done soon," said Monchi.

"The job of a sporting director is not just to sign or plan, but also to understand what is best for the club. Not just the sporting aspect but also the economic. An offer arrived that is 'out of the market', a very big one."
