Sell Coutinho and Griezmann to sign Haaland

Philippe Coutinho has been the most ruinous piece of business in Barcelona's history. The club's most expensive signing of all time (120 million plus 40 million in add ons) is also the least profitable. He arrived at the club from Liverpool in January 2018 and in three years has played 89 games, scoring 24 goals. Last season he was on loan at Bayern Munich, returning in the summer.

Under Ronald Koeman his presence has been minimal: He's spent three months injured and on Tuesday was in Qatar for a check-up on the issue. That seems to indicate that he's still a long way off coming back. The Brazilian's performances, beyond his fitness problems, are below what was expected. He arrived to be the 'New Iniesta' and has ended up being a player who the club are urgently looking to move on because he has no place in Koeman's project. Coutinho still has two years to run on his deal and his transfer value has dropped to around 40 million euros. The problem is no one wants to buy him... and Barça need money to invest elsewhere this summer.

Bartomeu's spending spree after Neymar's escape still haunts Barça. The former president spent nearly 500 million on Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele and Antoine Griezmann to replace the Brazilian. Absurd. Only Dembele, now in his fourth season at the club, is showing the necessary level to be a part of the team. Everything's already been said about Coutinho. All bad. And the best thing to be said about Griezmann is that he works hard.

Koeman tried his hardest to recover them both. The only way to solve the problem, though, is to sell, for the best price possible, Coutinho and Griezmann to sign Erling Haaland. The Brazilian and the Frenchman have already had a lot (too many) of chance that they haven't taken. It's time for a chance. Koeman and Laporta are clear on that. The future is called Haaaland. The Norwegian is a safe bet...
