There was a meeting. Virtual, of course. It was on Thursday of this week. In the afternoon. Barcelona's hierarchy were all president: the sporting director, the CEO, the president, directors... There were around 15 people on the screen.

Possible signings and sales were discussed. And, suddenly, it was revealed that the club had received an offer of 100 million euros for Ansu Fari. President Josep Maria Bartomeu, seeing the faces of his colleagues and to avoid misinterpretations said in a very firm manner: 'Ansu Fati is not for sale. We don't talk of that anymore.' And Ansu wasn't spoken of again.

They then talked about how quiet the market is with the return of football, but there are offers for some players.

There is unease among the board about how the club will balance the accounts. Among other reasons, because this year they had predicted 124 million euros of income from sales. Luckily, Abidal and Planes have eaten into that target with the sales of Malcom and Carles Perez, in addition to the loans of Coutinho, Todibo and Aleña.

However, they still need to bring in another 69 million to balance the books. That number seemed possible before COVID-19 but now it's complicated. Whatever happens, the club must know how to sell well but also get signings right. They cannot allow any more failures like Coutinho and Dembele.
