El Barça fue humillado por el Bayern en la Champions

It's difficult to sum up the tremendous beating Bayern Munich dished out on Barcelona on Friday. Now no one is denying we're at the end an era. It started with a chaotic first half, with complete disorganisation and the absence of any discipline.

Bayern also played their part in that. Barça survived for 20 minutes but from then on the German side were completely superior. The high pressure suffocated the Blaugrana, who time and again lost the ball in their own half. In just nine minutes, three goals were scored to make it 4-1. Even Ter Stegen was unrecognisable and made a number of mistakes.

Bayern's intensity was so evident that they completely overcame Barça's players in every facet of the game. They were impressive, reaching the Barça box with a lof of bodies.

GOAL AND EMBARRASSMENT

What happened in the second half only accentuated the sensation of embarrassment on the pitch. There was a brief glimmer of hope at 4-2, but it didn't last long. The Bayern avalanche led to the inevitable conclusion: the end of an era at Barcelona is now a reality and no one that saw Friday's game can deny it.

Especially when we consider that the steamroller that flattened Barça was none other than Bayern, a team that themselves have undergone a generational change in recent years in a really successful manner. The youth has brought fresh energy and combines with the experience to perfection. It's obvious that a similar generational change is needed at Camp Nou.

The key: Bayern humiliated Barça and revealed their lack of resources at all levels of the club.
