It's for two years with an option to buy for 15m euros and then 20m at the end of each season

Real Madrid have loaned Borja Mayoral to Roma for two seasons. There is a clause in the deal which allows the Italians to buy the striker for 15m euros at the end of this season or 20m euros at the end of the following year. Madrid would have an option for him in the case of a future sale.

He took a medical in Italy on Friday and then the deal was announced. He hoped to win a place at Madrid after two decent years at Levante but he has barely featured in the first three games, with Luka Jovic selected ahead of him.

Madrid extended his contract until 2023 to allow the two-year loan. In this way they are keeping things open to make a future transfer move for the forward.

Borja Mayoral was a player Roma coach Paulo Fonseca had been asking for, for a month.
