France Football crowned the Argentine genius the best player in the world once again
It’s official. Lionel Messi is the winner of the 2019 Ballon d’Or. France Football confirmed the expected news and the Barcelona man takes the trophy home for best player of the year. It is his sixth, a number that no other player in history has won.
Messi was level with Cristiano Ronaldo, with five Ballon d’Ors, and now he has moved onto his unique level. A fitting distinction that he deserves as the best player of all time.
Leo travelled to Paris for the ceremony accompanied by his spouse Antonela and sons Thiago and Mateo in a private jet with Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
