They have played together in seven games, scoring three and two goals between them

Lautaro Martinez's arrival at Barcelona is a sure bet, on paper. He's a top-quality player and he's played with Leo Messi for Argentina. The LMs have played together seven times under Lionel Scaloni, 469 minutes, scoring five goals (Leo three, Lautaro two) and got three victories.

The connection between Leo (138 games for Argentina, 70 goals, 45 assists) and Lautaro (17 games, 9 goals, 1 assist), without having much time to flourish, looks good.

The first game they met in was Argentina 1-3 Venezuela in March 2019. Both stated. Messi scored, Lautaro went off after 70 minutes.

In the 2019 Copa America they combined on various occasions in the 1-1 draw against Paraguay in which Messi scored.

Since then they have always started together. They beat Qatar 2-0 with Lautaro scoring, as he did in the 2-0 win over Venezuela, then neither netted in the 2-0 defeat by Brazil in the semi-final.
