After his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired, Edinson Cavani was a free agent and was sounded out by a number of clubs but he has now finally settled on a new team.
According to ESPN, Cavani has reached an agreement with Manchester United and will sign a contract at Old Trafford until 2022.
On Sunday, the Uruguayan striker will travel from Paris to Manchester to undergo a medical and his signing could be made official that same day, or on Monday, the final day of the transfer window.
With the signing of Cavani, United finally strengthen their attack but that could mean they don't sign Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele.
France forward Dembele, who was looking for a Camp Nou exit this summer, had the Red Devils as one of his possible destinations during the current transfer window.
Benfica, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and Juventus had all shown varying degrees of interest in Cavani this summer but none were able to agree a deal.
