Joao Felix's agent Jorge Mendes seeking offers for Atletico exit in January

The Portugal international could be on the move when the window opens next month

It looked like fourth time lucky. Atletico Madrid forward Joao Félix started this season with renewed illusions, a coach who continued to back him and performances that suggested he had changed chip and managed to become what Diego Simeone expected and wanted from him.

However, as the season has progressed, Felix has not. A couple of bad performances from the Portuguese international and, above all, the crossfire between the coach and the player in the form of statements have ended up killing his hopes of becoming a star at Atletico.

Everything now seems lost. After the derby against Real Madrid (a couple of months ago), Simeone did not hesitate to remove Felix from all the prominence and relegate him to the bench until the World Cup break, something that the striker does not want or can tolerate anymore. He is not a player to wait for an opportunity, so his agent Jorge Mendes is already looking for a way out for him in this January window.

According to 'AS', Felix's agent manages offers from teams that would be willing to put up around €100 million, including bonuses, to lure him from the Civitias Metropolitano. A figure that, given the relationship between the player and Simeone, Atletico would welcome. The potential suitors seem to be clear: Manchester United, PSG and Bayern Munich would be the three teams that would put in the most effort to sign Felix, who is showing his potential in Qatar.

Felix feels highly valued by the national team coach Fernando Santos and, for now, has started the two matches that Portugal have played at the World Cup. Starting from the wing, against Ghana he was key, scoring one of the three goals, but against Uruguay he had a more secondary role. Even so, at 23 years old, Joao is ready for a new adventure away from Simeone, who has not protected him for a while now.
