Barcelona's Philippe Coutinho negotiating with Newcastle United
The Premier League side are keen on the Brazilian if their takeover goes through
Newcastle United could be the next destination for Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho, who is currently on loan at German side Bayern Munich.
The takeover bid from Saudi Arabia, once ratified, will lead to a spending splurge from the Premier League team and they have set their sights on Coutinho.
According to the British press, Newcastle have made the first contact with the former Liverpool man's camp to find out if they would be open to a move.
Coutinho, whose loan with Bayern ends this month, will return to Barça but the club are looking for a buyer. He still has a good reputation in England and several clubs have shown an interest -- although the cost of a deal has been prohibitive.
Meanwhile, France Football report that Newcastle have also contacted Barcelona to know how much they want for the Brazilian and the conditions of any deal.
Remember that just last week, Coutinho's agent, Kia Joorabchian admitted that his client was keen on a return to the Premier League sooner than later.
"He has a desire to come back to the Premier League at some point," Joorabchian told Sky Sports. "It may not happen this year, it may happen this year -- we don't know. We really have not discussed anything for now."
