Lyon striker Memphis Depay emerges as option for Koeman's Barça
The two worked together at the Dutch national team
The arrival of Ronald Koeman has seen several Dutch players linked with Barcelona, players that he knows from his time in charge of the Holland national teal.
Van der Beek, Wijnaldum... and Memphis Depay are the first players to be mentioned. Memphis has impressed for Lyon, helping them reach the Champions League semifinal, where they were stopped by Bayern Munich.
The 26-year-old would be an express request from Koeman, who's working on major changes in collaboration with sporting director Ramon Planes.
Koeman values his versatility and speed. This season he's scored 15 goals in 22 games at an average of 0-68 per game despite suffering a serious injury at one point.
If Barça decide to push for Memphis, the negotiations will be tough. They know how tough it is to negotiate with Lyon. When Tottenham were linked, president Jean-Michael Aulas put a 55 million euro price tag on the forward.
Barça will hope to reduce that price and pay around 40 million euros, but Aulas knows how to negotiate. Therefore, Barça may look elsewhere.
