The Uruguayan feels let down that his move to Atletico Madrid has been put on ice

Luis Suarez is annoyed with Barcelona's board. When it seemed there would be a breakthrough and an agreement had been reached over the recision of his contract, the Catalan club changed their mind when it emerged he was close to signing for Atletico Madrid. It hasn't gone down well with the Uruguayan striker and his camp.

Suarez, 33, feels he was prepared to make a big sacrifice to end his contract early with Barça, as the club had made clear they wanted to do. Therefore, he doesn't understand the U-turn and the attempt to include Atletico on the list of clubs he cannot sign for if he leaves for free.

For that reason, as advanced by ESPN and confirmed by SPORT, Suarez is planning to hold a press conference with his lawyers to speak about the negotiations and to try and unlock the situation. He's prepared to give up a large chunk of what he's owed in exchange for being allowed to leave for free.

The agreement was redacted but not signed and when Barça learned of his intention to join Atletico, everything changed.

Now, talks have had the brakes put on and Suarez is still training under Ronald Koeman's orders as the Catalan club prepare for this weekend's curtain-raiser against Villarreal in La Liga.
