Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has asked the club's supporters to give Neymar a second chance after the Brazilian tried to leave the club in the summer.
Neymar wanted to return to Barcelona but the two clubs could not reach an agreement. Therefore, he stayed at PSG, but was jeered and abused by supporters as he scored the winner in his first appearance of the season at the weekend.
Verratti was speaking ahead of PSG's Champions League game against Real Madrid. Neymar's suspended for the match but was still a hot topic in the pregame press conference.
“Neymar had a difficult time with things outside of football that have somewhat destabilised him," the Italian said. "But when he learned that he was staying, I saw him with a smile as always.
"He loves football, he is a player who will help us a lot. We are lucky to have him in Paris, we must enjoy him.
“I know that the fans have not forgotten, but I hope that Neymar will do everything [to make amends] and we will celebrate all this together at the end of the season.
"In football, there are always some nice moments and I hope that it will end well. Neymar will give 110 percent.”
