Tuchel: Sometimes Neymar is provocative and it's a real shame
The PSG coach revealed he's told the Brazilian that his behaviour can be unnecessary
Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel has been tough on Neymar in an interview with France Info. The German lamented the Brazilian star's behaviour and said that he can be provocative on the pitch, which works against him and his public image.
Neymar's place in PSG's side for Tuesday's game against Real Madrid in the Champions League is one of the talking points at the moment. If he plays, it will be his first appearance in the competition this season due to suspensions and injuries.
Tuchel's comments could create more tension between the two ahead of that game at the Santiago Bernabeu. The PSG boss said that Neymar's behaviour on the pitch "is not easy" to manage.
He said: "He has a huge hear but unfortunately he doesn't always show that's he a generous and reliable guy. Sometimes he's provocative and it's a real shame because it's not necessary."
Tuchel explained that he's said this to Neymar: "Yes, yes I have told him that. We laugh a lot together and I always try to say the truth. He accepts it, but it's difficult (because he) is provocative when he feels things aren't going well, not when he's calm."
