The Uruguayan says the team is more important than individual relationships

On the infamous penalty incident, he says that is now firmly in the past

The relationship between Edinson Cavani and Neymar is still a talking point in France. The Uruguayan striker has been speaking to SFT Sport 1 about the penalty incident -- the two fought over who should take a penalty in a game against Lyon on Sept. 17.

“The penalty case, that’s in the past. These are things that happen in football. We must find the solution together and function as a team," Cavani said.

The PSG striker admitted that his relationship with Neymar is not a close one, but feels that it's not too important for them to get on well.

"We need to be a competitive team, but we do not need to be friends," he added. "You have to be professional and afterwards everyone has their own life."

Asked about who will taker penalties from now on, he said: "The important thing is to win and we have to find the best solutions for the team. It is something the manager must decide, whatever's best for the team. I think the manager will find the solution."
