The former Barça midfielder's current deal runs until 2022

Xavi Simons is a unique figure in football. His ambition saw him leave Barcelona in 2019 to sign for Paris Saint-Germain and now, at the age of 17, the midfielder, once one of the brightest prospects at La Masia, is around the French club's first team and has already made his debut.

For that reason, PSG are already thinking about renewing his contract, as confirmed by France Bleu. His contract is up in 2022 but his talent and progression have made him a really valuable asset for Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.

For now, PSG haven't made a formal offer to Simons, but there are plans in place to sit down and talk soon.

In that sense, Simons spoke to PSG Mag this week and said that he feels "at home" in Paris: "I feel really fortunate to play for PSG. My teammates helped me integrate quickly and I feel like I am part of a family.

"In fact, I am in the best possible place I could be. Playing at the Parc des Princes with this shirt on was a dream."
