"I have discovered a lot of things here and I feel that it is perhaps time for greater responsibility"

Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe hinted it could be time to leave the French champions after being named Ligue 1's Player of the Year by the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP).

The French international suggested it could be time to take on more responsibility in comments which will alert Europe's biggest clubs.

"I think that it is a very important moment for me as I feel that I am approaching a first, or second, turning point in my career," he said after collecting the prize.

"I have discovered a lot of things here and I feel that it is perhaps time for greater responsibility. I hope that it will be with PSG, which would be with great pleasure, or maybe elsewhere with a new project."

Asked afterward in the mixed zone to expand on what he meant, Mbappe said that "if I speak again it's too much. It was the message I wanted to send."

The young PSG hotshot joined the club for 180 million euros from Monaco in 2017 and has quickly become the star of the team, usurping even Neymar.

Real Madrid are among the teams who would be interested in him if he became available, but PSG would not sell for cheap -- and they would probably not even sell at all.
