Weah Jr came on for his PSG debut on Saturday

Emery reserved several players for the Madrid game

Timothy Weah, the son of legendary striker George Weah, currently the president of Liberia, made his official debut for Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday.

Weah, 18, came on as a second half substitute as the Ligue 1 winners beat Troyes 2-0 with goals from Angel Di Maria and Christopher Nkunku.

The teenage forward signed a new deal with the club last summer running until 2020 and came on for the final 10 minutes in place of the Argentina Giovanni Lo Celso.

Born in New York, Weah has French-Liberian-American nationality and is a regular in PSG's youth team, but made his way on to the first team's bench this weekend as Unai Emery rested players before the Champions League game against Real Madrid.

Weah is following in the footsteps of his father, who spent seven seasons playing in France, four with Monaco and three with PSG, before moving to AC Milan.

He went on to win the Ballon d'Or in 1995 while playing in Italy before trying his luck in England with Chelsea and Manchester City and later returning to France with Marseille and the finishing his career with Al Jazira.
