Barcelona now must reach a deal with Inter if they want the Argentine goal grabber

At midnight on Tuesday July 7, Lautaro Martinez's release clause expired. The Inter forward could be bought for 111m euros but now that period is over.

Barcelona have no intention of accelerating their efforts to get the forward, whom they must agree a deal with Inter for now.

They are still confident that they can agree a deal before Serie A finishes on August 2.

Lautaro has given Inter instructions only to negotiate with Barca, and no other clubs. The Catalans have an agreement with him, in terms of both finance and years on the deal, and now it's up to the two clubs to agree their fee.

He will come to Barca or stay at Inter, those are the only options. Barca are trying to find a trade formula, with Inter keen on Junior Firpo.
