What is going to happen with LaLiga this season?

In theory, LaLiga must be finished before the 30th June but there are reports which suggest this is unlikely

LaLiga, like all of Europe's major leagues, is faced with the tough task of deciding how and when to complete the current season. Both the Europa League and Champions League campaigns have been put on hiatus until there's a plan for this campaign to end. The European Championships were yesterday moved to 2021 by UEFA but there's still no indication as to when football will return to action.

Javier Tebas, LaLiga president, and Luis Rubiales, head of the Spanish FA (RFEF), are both searching for ideas to resolve matters.

Rubiales, alongside the LFP (Player's Association), have offered three dates: 23rd April, the 2nd May and the last being the 14th May.

The problem is that the limit to end this season is the 30th June. Rubiales believes there are ways around this with one option being to delay the start of next season.

What appears clear is that neither one is willing to give up hope of finishing LaLiga Santander and LaLiga Smartbank at some point this summer.
