Visiting Athletic Bilbao cannot avoid defeat by Elche
Its a disappointing end to the season for Athletic Bilbao, as they conclude it with a loss to Elche
Elche defeat Athletic Bilbao 2-0 on Saturday at Estadio Martínez Valero. Elche were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Athletic Bilbao were beaten 1-0 in the previous match against R Madrid. Following the final whistle at the end of the last game of the LaLiga season, Elche are in 17th place on the table and has 36 points while Athletic Bilbao sit in 9th with 46 points after 38 matches.
Elche started strongly in the first half, with Lucas Boye giving Elche the lead, 28 minutes in. The score at half time was 1-0.
Elche continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Raul Guti in the 73rd minute. The game ended 2-0.
