Villarreal earned hard-fought win over Valencia 2-1 at Estadio de La Ceramica

Villarreal sways pass Valencia 2-1 on Sunday at Estadio de La Ceramica. Villarreal wanted to improve their position in the tournament after a 0-0 draw against Atlético Madrid while Valencia lost by a result of 0-2 in the previous match against Real Betis. Following today's result, Villarreal is 1st in the LaLiga table with 11 points from 6 matches, while Valencia sits 12th with 7 points after 6 matches.

An impressive opening from Villarreal, thanks to a goal from Paco Alcacer in the 6th minute. However, Valencia 37 minutes in the game gave an equalizer thanks to a goal from Goncalo Guedes, thereby seeing the first half to a 1-1.

Villarreal took the lead in the second half, with a goal from Dani Parejo 69 minutes in the game, which saw the second half to a 2-1.

For Villarreal Francis Coquelin, Takefusa Kubo, Carlos Bacca and Jaume Costa came on for Manu Trigueros, Samuel Chukwueze, Paco Alcacer and Dani Parejo, while Valencia substituted Alex Blanco, Yunus Musah, Daniel Wass, Thierry Correia and Goncalo Guedes for Denis Cheryshev, Jason, Uros Racic, Kevin Gameiro and Manu Vallejo.

The referee booked five players. Vicente Iborra, Alfonso Pedraza and Takefusa Kubo from Villarreal saw the yellow card and Takefusa Kubo (2 yellow cards) saw the red card, while for Valencia Gabriel Paulista saw a yellow card as well.
