Villarreal cruise to a 1-2 victory vs. Real Sociedad at Reale Arena

Villarreal went pass Real on a hard-earned victory of 1-2 on Sunday at Reale Arena. The two teams arrived at this game having taken good results. Real Sociedad went into the match knowing victory after winning away by a 3-4 victory against Osasuna while Villarreal won in their last two matches of the competition against Getafe at home stadium, and Sevilla away, by 1-0 and 1-2 respectively. As of today, Real Sociedad and Villarreal occupy position 5th (31 points) and 9th (28 points) respectively after playing a total of 19 matches.

Excellent start from Real Sociedad, thanks to a goal from Willian Jose 22 minutes in the game, which saw the first half to a 1-0.

Villarreal boosted the game in the second half, with a goal from Manu Trigueros 58 minutes in the game. Later, Villarreal scored once more and turned the match 1-2 thanks to a goal from Santi Cazorla 72 minutes in the game, which saw the second half to a 1-2.

As for substitutions, both coaches used full substitutions. For Real, Robin Le Normand, Alexander Isak and Adnan Januzaj came on for Igor Zubeldia, Willian Jose and Ander Guevara, and Villarreal brought on Santi Cazorla, Alberto Moreno and Ruben Pena for Moi Gomez, Xavier Quintilla and Samuel Chukwueze.

The referee booked Igor Zubeldia, Joseba Zaldua, Ander Guevara, Adnan Januzaj and Portu from Real, while for Villarreal Pau Torres, Mario Gaspar, Alberto Moreno and Raul Albiol saw a yellow card as well.

Real Sociedad will play against Real Betis at away stadium, while Villarreal will face Espanyol at home stadium.
